Goa Trip Itinerary: 5 Days Beaches, Nightlife & Old Goa Churches
Plan the perfect Goa trip with our 5-day itinerary covering North Goa beaches, Baga nightlife, South Goa relaxation, water sports, and Old Goa heritage sites. Best time to visit, budget tips included.
Day 1
Sun, Nov 15, 2026
Most flights land at Manohar International (Mopa) or Dabolim. Pre-book a taxi, or arrange scooter rental (₹300–500/day) through your stay — the beach belt is spread out and autos get pricier after dark. Carry cash; many shacks and small vendors don't take cards.
Calangute Beach, Goa, India
Goa's busiest beach — wide sands, souvenir stalls, and your first taste of the coast. Grab a sunbed at a shack for lunch.
Baga Beach, Baga, Goa, India
North Goa's water-sports hub: parasailing, jet-skiing, banana boat rides. Prices are negotiable — agree before you get in the boat.
Fort Aguada Rd, Aguada Fort Area, Candolim, Goa 403515, India
A 17th-century Portuguese fort with sweeping Arabian Sea views — one of Goa's best sunset points, and far less crowded than the beaches below.
House No.7, 171, Calangute - Baga Rd, Saunta Vaddo, Baga, Goa 403516, India
Iconic beachfront Goan-Continental shack, running since 1958 — live music some nights.
Beach, Calangute Beach, Calangute, Goa 403516, India
A Goa institution since 1932 — seafood thalis right on the sand.
Tito's Ln, Calangute, Goa 403516, India
Goa's original nightlife strip — Tito's, Mambo's and Cape Town Cafe cover everything from Bollywood remixes to EDM. Cover charges are common after 10pm.
Day 2
Mon, Nov 16, 2026
Today's stretch (Anjuna to Vagator) is easiest by rented scooter — the coastal lanes are narrow and taxis take longer to arrange between stops.
Anjuna Beach, Anjuna, Goa 403509, India
Famous for its Wednesday flea market (more on that later in the trip) — on other days it's a quieter stretch of red-cliff-backed sand with a boho, laid-back energy.
972, Market Rd, Monteiro Vaddo, Anjuna, Goa 403509, India
A hidden gem tucked into an Anjuna backstreet — organic, health-forward brunch (acai bowls, cold-pressed juice) in a leafy garden setting favoured by long-term Goa regulars over the tourist-strip cafes.
Chapora Fort Trail, Vagator, Anjuna, Goa 403509, India
Made famous by "Dil Chahta Hai" — a crumbling laterite fort with a 360° view over the Chapora River mouth and coastline. Best light is late afternoon.
Ozran Beach, Anjuna, Goa, India
A cove beach below red laterite cliffs, quieter than Vagator's main stretch — good swimming and a couple of low-key shacks.
H.No. 214/1, Ozran, Vagator, Anjuna, Bardez, Goa 403509, India
A clifftop Greek taverna that's become a Goa institution — go for the sunset, stay for the mezze, wine, and (Wed/Sat) live music.
Day 3
Tue, Nov 17, 2026
Both churches enforce a dress code — shoulders and knees covered. Visit before 11am to beat the tour-bus crowds and the midday heat.
Old Goa Road, Goa 403402, India
A UNESCO World Heritage Site holding the mortal remains of St. Francis Xavier — Goa's most important religious landmark.
Old Goa, Goa 403402, India
Asia's largest church, built to commemorate the 1510 Portuguese victory over Bijapur's forces — its 'Golden Bell' is one of the finest in the world.
beside Three Kings church, Bardez, fort, Verem, Goa 403114, India
A beautifully restored 16th-century fort across the Mandovi from Panaji — far fewer visitors than Fort Aguada, with arguably better views over the river and the capital skyline.
Fontainhas (quarter), Altinho, Panaji, Goa 403001, India
Home-style Goan thali in a converted heritage house.
Miramar, Panaji, Goa 403001, India
Goan-Portuguese classics, popular with locals and visitors alike.
Fontainhas (quarter), Panaji, Goa 403001, India
Wander Panaji's Latin Quarter on foot — pastel Portuguese-era houses, azulejo tiles, and narrow lanes that feel more Lisbon than India.
Miramar Beach, Panaji, Goa, India
A wide urban beach for a sunset stroll, then a short hop to Dona Paula's viewpoint — the 'chair-shaped rock' spot with views across the bay, popular with couples at dusk.
If you're up for something different, the Mandovi's docked casino cruise boats near Panaji run into the night — entirely optional, easy to skip if you'd rather rest before tomorrow's early market morning.
Day 4
Wed, Nov 18, 2026
It's Wednesday — Anjuna's flea market runs only this one day a week, so today starts early. You're also relocating to South Goa this afternoon, so pack and check out before heading to the market.
HPGR+FM4, Monteiro Vaddo, Anjuna, Goa 403509, India
Running since the 1960s hippie trail — Goa's original flea market: clothes, jewellery, spices, live music. Bargain hard; first-quoted prices are rarely final.
Palolem Beach, Goa, India
A perfect crescent bay lined with palms and beach huts — the postcard image of South Goa, and a completely different pace from the North.
Local tip: Palolem and South Goa generally enforce an early cut-off on loud music at beach shacks — expect a calmer evening than up north. Cafe Del Mar and Ourem 88 are solid dinner picks right on the sand.
Day 5
Thu, Nov 19, 2026
2292+RMJ, Butterfly Beach Rd, Devalkajjan, Goa 403702, India
A short boat ride from the Palolem jetty to a secluded cove only reachable by water or a tough trek — go early for the best chance of spotting dolphins en route.
Agonda, Goa, India
Quieter and more laid-back than Palolem, with a long stretch of golden sand. From November to March it doubles as an Olive Ridley turtle nesting site — look out for the roped-off hatchery near the northern end.
Cola Beach Rd, Kola, Goa 403702, India
A hidden-gem lagoon beach backed by cliffs — reachable by a short forest trail, which keeps the crowds away.
Taluka Cabo da Rama, Canacona, Canaguinim, Goa 403702, India
One of Goa's oldest forts, with a dramatic clifftop setting and one of the best, least-crowded sunset views in the south.
Build in at least 3 hours before your flight for the drive back north to the airport plus check-in — South Goa to Dabolim/Mopa can take 1.5–2 hours depending on traffic. Last-minute buys: feni (Goan cashew/coconut spirit) and bebinca (layered dessert) travel well.
